ScytheBuddy Discord bot setup
For server admins: bring your server’s item-stack listings to ScytheBuddy. No website account is needed to sell through Discord.
1. Invite the bot
Invite ScytheBuddy to your server ↗, select your server, and approve the permissions.
You need Manage Server or Administrator permission. The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links in your listing destination.
2. Choose the listing destinations
Create or choose a text channel for announcements. Both games may use the same channel, or separate ones. Run these commands anywhere in your server:
Old School RuneScape (OSRS)
/set-marketplace game:osrs marketplace_channel:#osrs-listings
RuneScape 3 (RS3)
/set-marketplace game:rs3 marketplace_channel:#rs3-listings
The channel names above are examples: choose your actual channels in Discord. The game choices are shown as “Old School” and “RuneScape 3”. Wait for the bot’s saved confirmation; rerun the command to change a destination.
3. Members can start selling
Members can use /sell in any channel where Discord allows slash commands. Choose the game, then enter the item, quantity, GP price per item, and in-game name. World and notes are optional.
The listing appears in your chosen announcement channel and the matching Old School or RuneScape 3 tab on scythebuddy.com. The seller receives a listing link and ID.
To manage listings, members use /mylistings, which shows their active listings with menus to mark one as sold or delete it — no listing ID needed. The /sold and /deletelisting commands also work: start typing and Discord offers a list of your own listings to pick from. Buyers contact Discord sellers on Discord; trades happen in game.
